Swarnalatha singer passes away, Swarnalata died at 37. Noted South Indian playback singer and National award winner Swarnalata died at 37, at a private hospital in Chennai on Sunday following a lung infection.
Swarna latha – Malayalam born in Kerala’s Palakkad district, Swarna lata had sung in various languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam since 1989. She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her rendition of the famous song “Porale Ponnuthayi” from the film Karuththamma. The song was composed by A.R.Rahman, with whom she has given lot of memorable songs.Swarnalatha passed away on 12th sept 2010 at a private hospital in Chennai of lung infected complications.
