This new Bollywood flick Patiala House is a Hindi family drama / sports film being directed by Nikhil Advani and starring Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma. The film PatiyalaHouse is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Krishan Kumar and Twinkle Khanna under the banner of People Tree Films, Credence Motion Pictures and Hari Om Entertainment. The film Patiyala Houze is scheduled for release on 11 February 2011. Akshay Kumar plays the role of a fast bowler in the film Patiala Houze, loosely based upon Monty Panesar.
Critical Reception – Initially the film Patiala House has garnered positive review’s.
Popular critic Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 4 stars out of 5 saying it is an inspirational movie and that Akshay has reinvented himself.
Smriti Sharma of India Today has given it 3.5/5 stars, describing it as an emotional journey.
Aniruddha Guha from Mid-Day gave it three starts out of five.
Sukanya Verma gave it 3 stars to the movie, and stated it has Bend it like Akshay!
Gaurav Malani from Times of India says this is Akshay’s career best performance.He says Paitala House simply bowls you over.
