This film is said to be the return of the film of director Vijayendra Prasad who made his debut as director with Arthangi in 1996. This new flick Rajnna was created on the real life incidents in Telangana region during the Nizam’s domination. The movie has been weaved with sentiment, emotions and patriotism. Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni produced the film on Annapurna Studios banner. Living legend ANR who earlier vouched that this film will be turn out an extremely powerful flick which included the struggles of the people of the region and their slavery under the Razkars. Akkineni Nageswara Rao opens and end the movie with a voice-over, and the first thirty minutes of the film is narrated beautifully with too many sentiment scenes. Nagarjuna’s introduction part being done very late in the film and that came off when about to leave for interval that is exactly 10 minutes before the Thumbs up and pop corn break. Rajanna is presentation of human emotions, patriotism and sentiment which are well explained in a convincing manner. The plot of the film is fascinating and laudable. The director could have gone for little extra effort at the end to tell as a engaged one. After the interval the film slowly picks up the pace and leaves a good impression. The punch dialogues and action episodes are breathtaking to watch on screen. We can see the slang of Rajamouli in action sequences and couple of songs. Gijigaadu and Veyyi Ra Veyyi tracks are the best songs of the film. The screenplay of the film is not brilliant and lacks the exciting factor. Nagarjuna’s Telangana accent is impressive. Music director Keeravani has delivered an outstanding background score and soundtrack. Nagarjuna stands out for his role as Rajanna and for delivering powerful action. His histrionics are the highlights of the films to mesmerize the fans after long time. Pradeep Rawat, Ajay, Nassar, Supreeth and Chotu are descent in their roles. Sneha has been after a long time and she has done her part very well as Lachuvamma. Baby Annie as Mallamma is the show stealer of the flick. Her performance is the heart of the film. Shweta Menon looked good in her negative role. Mukesh Rishi got little time to play and he is Ok. Telangana Sakuntala is good in her short role.
Overall, the this one is fine film to watch for fabulous performances from the lead star cast – Nagarjuna rocks.
