Prometheus Movie Review – 2012 Hollwood English movie Prometheus is an American science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott.
Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Prometheus struggled to show believable characters stuck in a terrible situation lacking that making an uninteresting one. Prometheus reminds us the Avatar when comes to technical department. The use of 3D is excellent and the art direction is amazing but has the terrible plot, sub-standard characterisation and meaningless dialogue. The CGI is decent and the acting would be fine if the actors had been given special gripping task.
But every other aspect of the film was a worthless waste of time. The move opens up very amazing, with epic landscapes and a beautifully done intro. In the first half, the film goes very smooth then half of the movie it slips away in to unnecessary dialogs. For brilliant director who made brilliant films such as Alien, Bladerunner, Gladiator etc.
You have to wonder, why is he gone with a ordinary sci fi movie that looked like made with sluggish efforts. Prometheus was beautifully crafted and visually great, but the movie was full of poor editing, plot holes and flawed acting. Despite its mistakes it’s still a adorable sci-fi and deserves the cost of a cinema ticket. You’ll be surprised by Fassbender’s performance and also Raprace’s to a point. The CGI really is wonderful and it will join your collection of blu-ray in a few months time.
Rating: – Average – 3/5
All in all, Watchout for the director’s effort!
