Maximum Hindi movie review – Maximum crime/thriller directed by Kabeer Kaushik features Naseeruddin Shah, Sonu Sood in the lead roles hits the big screens today.
Maximum story sets in 2003 in Mumbai where a war against the underworld had been declared and the film spins around dirty underworld and encounters. Maximum film turns out to be a minimum-fuss crime drama and proves to be a flick so unsalvagable that even an actor like vetaran Naseeruddin Shah fails to help its case a big a let down. The crime thriller plots seems to be one of the favourite subjects of many Bollywood filmmakers for decades now.
Now, the director Kabeer Kaushik emerges with his latest release Maximum, featuring Sonu Sood, Naseeruddin Shah, Amit Sadh and Neha Dhupia. The film is set in the Bombay and portrays shows off politics, land deals, and fake encounters. But fails one’s expectation, the film falls flat to deliver the MAXIMUM as the title promises. Sonu Sood performed as an encounter cop to a decent level but has an impressive screen presence, but fails to shine due to weak plot. Naseeruddin played with ease that needs no definition just dashing and steals the show with his power pack performance.
Neha Dhupia looks cute and more appealing in traditional, sari avatar, istead her bikini look. Vinay Pathak seems convincing as the politician. Amit Sadh as a reporter is OK in his role. The music is given by Amjad-Nadeem and the highlight of the movie is Hazel Keech’s minimal clothing popular item number ‘Aa ante Amalapuram’.
All in all, Maximum ordinary!
Rating: Poor – 1.5/5
