Dinesh Thakur veteran actor and director and who was the beau of heroine Vidya Sinha in Basu Chatterji’s superhit movie Rajnigandha (1974) is dead.
Dinesh Thakur passed away after a prolonged illness in a Mumbai hospital on Thursday, he was 65. Dinesh Thakur is beeter known for his character roles in Hindi films of the 70s. Dinesh was suffering from kidney ailments and took his last breath at a suburban Andheri hospital, he was survived by actor-wife Prita Mathur.
Dinesh Thakur has several acclaimed films like Mere Apne, Rajanigandha and Ghar to his credit. Dinesh was the head to a theatre group called ANK Productions for the last thirty years. Dinesh’s old theatre production is Jis Lahore Nahi Dekhya is still popular. Dinesh Thakur had showcased his play Rang Bajrang at the Prithvi and Tata theatres in April last year.
