Bhoot Returns movie Review
Bhoot Returns is a Ram Gopal Varma’s 2012 Bollywood horror Hindi movie starring Manisha Koirala, JD Chekravorthy, Alayna Sharma, Madhushalini in the lead roles. Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala makes her return with ‘Bhoot Returns’.
Ram Gopal Varma’s sequel to his 2003 hit horror film ‘Bhoot’, that gave us shiver to the spine, only makes us laugh out loud this time around After you putting on your 3D glasses and in no time, you come to know there is not much to see from this stale story that’s not even packaged differently. To put this film under the genre of horror is comical.
The film also features some scenes from popular ‘Paranormal Activities’ series. No need to watch this movie in 3D when the heavy frames on your nose just leave you annoy. The cacophony background score fails to fright the audience. Manisha Koirala delivers decent performance but might have done much more better if she opted any other film instead of ‘Bhoot 2’.
Manisha gets thumbs down for some scenes particularly towards the end where the whole family is trying to protect each other from the attacks. Alayana Sharma as the little Nimi is damn cute and hardly gives you the shoock. Alayana Sharma is missing from the screenplay and appears only here and there to make a remark or two.
Nimi holding a huge knife in the climax scene looks odd. The dark circles under her eyes in the last scene along with the a series of funny events remind you of laughter shows on television. All in all, After the mildly successful Bhoot, RGV’s Bhoot 2 is turns out to be a mash up of RGV’s earlier horror movies.
