Kites movie in trouble in Chennai by local Tamil organisation, Namtamilar group, for Indian Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan attending “IIFA awards 2010″ In Sri lanka.

The screening of Kites has been stopped in a few theatres in Chennai, following pressure from a local Tamil organisation protesters. Tamil supporters, including superstars who allege the Sri Lankan government of killing Tamils civilians at the height of the conflict between army and LTTE last year. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) is going to take a final decision on banning the movies of Bollywood actors who are participating in the IIFA Awards weekend on Monday.

Kites movie review

KitesReview – KytesMovie officially released in its international English (Dubtitled) version as Kites: The Remix. KitesReview also indicates that KytesMovie has been edited by Brett Ratner. The KitesMovie international version will be 90 minutes long, as opposed to the Hindi version, which is 130 minutes long. This version is deleted all songs, except for “Fire” which has an alternative English version that is heard during the end titles. With alternative footage and added action scenes, this movie aims at a younger, action orientated audience. The movie is “racier, edgier and spunkier” than the Hindi edit. This follows the remix formula idea originally created by Michael “Mic” Neumann for the international television series titled Kung Faux which re-cut, remixed, and re-scored original Hong Kong-produced kung fu action films.While the Hindi version of Kaits is released on May 21, 2010, the international version will be released one week later on May 28, 2010. The movie will be released in over 60 countries.

Premiere

Kites US premier on May 16. in New York at the AMC Empire Theater in Times Square on Saturday, it was well received by both critics and viewers.The premier was attended by lead actors HrithikRoshan & BarbaraMori, along with Hrithik’s father Rajesh Roshan. Also present were the Roshan family’s good friends director Karan Johar, and Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan. Kite will reach UK on May 18, and will premiere in London at the Odeon West End.
